Moushumi Chaudhury

Senior Technical Advisor, Climate Justice

Moushumi Chaudhury is the Senior Technical Advisor on Climate Justice at CARE USA. She has helped to design the Climate Justice program at CARE USA and provides technical support to countries through a gender-equitable and climate justice lens to mainstream climate change adaptation.

Prior to working with CARE USA, Moushumi promoted the use of nature-based solutions to build coastal resilience at The Nature Conservancy and conducted research on adaptation to inform policy and build capacity while at the World Resources Institute and the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security. She has also worked with UN agencies and various environmental organizations on a range of environment and development topics. Moushumi has experience working at the global level, as well countries in East Africa, South and Southeast Asia, and the Pacific.

Moushumi holds a PhD in International Development from University of Sussex, an MS in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan, and a BA in Anthropology & Sociology from Smith College. She is a strong believer of interdisciplinary approaches to tacking climate adaptation issues.

As a national of Bangladesh, a country with high climate vulnerability, Moushumi is passionate about supporting marginalized people to build climate resilience around the world.
