Dr.Pichaya Surapolchai
Deputy Director
Dr. Pichaya Surapolchai is the deputy director and the Director of CUSRI Academy Center at Chulalongkorn University Social Research Institute (CUSRI). She holds a Ph.D. in Development Education (Sociology) from Chulalongkorn University and an MSc in Applied Social Research from the University of Hull. Her expertise lies in community-based research, social impact assessment, and integrated policy evaluation.
Over the past decade, Dr. Pichaya has led and contributed to strategic projects across Thailand, focusing on the evaluation of social impacts stemming from public policies and development programs. Her work spans social return on investment (SROI) and assessments related to public health, inequality, vulnerable populations, and sustainable urban development.
She brings extensive experience in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, with a particular emphasis on integrating community voices into strategic planning. Her contributions include collaborations with ministries, public research institutions, and international platforms such as the T20. Dr. Pichaya has also published widely on topics related to sustainable development and waste management innovation.
She offers deep expertise in participatory impact evaluation and systems thinking, helping bridge grassroots realities with policy-level decision-making to ensure that research outcomes are inclusive, evidence-based, and socially responsive.
