Dr. Philip Soung Soo Cho

Dr. Philip Cho’s work focuses on the ethical development of disruptive science and technology innovations for the betterment of society. His academic background is in cognitive neuroscience from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and sociology of science and technology from the University of Pennsylvania. He has over 20 years of experience as a researcher and professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, National University of Singapore, Yonsei University, and Chulalongkorn University. He has been the principal investigator leading numerous international projects supported by the Templeton Foundation, Fetzer Franklin Memorial Trust, Leverhulme Trust, and other major funding institutions.

Dr. Cho is a multidisciplinary scholar whose publications span science, engineering, and social science. He employs a wide range of methodologies including mathematical modeling of social networks, data mining, neuroimaging, ethnographic fieldwork, and historical archival research. His current projects examine migrant and informal workers, fintech innovations for microfinance, interbrain synchrony and AI education, nuclear energy and environmental policy, and EDS issues pertaining to an emerging Space Economy.
