Digital tools for reversing Environmental Degradation

The Royal Academy of Engineering will lead this virtual Frontiers symposium to identify practical innovative solutions that prevent, and reverse, environmental degradation in Asia and Africa.

The potential for digital technology to solve challenges related to environmental degradation is vast. To date, there has been a focus on using technology to understand and quantify challenges, while the application of technology to implement solutions is relatively untapped.

This virtual Frontiers symposium will aim to explore the next step and identify practical interventions that use digital tools to prevent and reverse environmental degradation in Asia and Africa.

This symposium will consider the interconnected roles of monitoring, conservation, and rights and roles of local communities, bringing experts from biodiversity and conservation, engineering, social sciences and community groups together to identify solutions.
